Letter from the Interim Headteacher – Tim Self
I would like to welcome you and your child to our school website. Our Pupil Referral Unit aims to help students to re-engage with learning and build the skills to contribute to the community as they journey through life.
We are extremely proud of our students and the way that they overcome their barriers to learning and develop skills for success in lifelong learning.
We believe that if children and young people are given the support and help they need to overcome difficulties and everyone works in partnership to identify and address their needs, they can re-engage with education.
We are committed to ensuring that every young person in our care can access the highest possible standard of education within an engaging learning environment. We have rigorous progammes and systems in place that support our learners to succeed in their studies, manage their behaviour and emotions and help them to become more independent and self-motivated as learners.
Our curriculum is designed to equip our children and young people with the qualities that will enable them to be successful citizens. We work closely with parents, carers, management committee members, schools, the local education authority and other agencies to ensure that our provision provides wrap around support for our learners.
Our three learning communities are currently based over two sites and our academic year is filled with opportunities to celebrate your young person’s achievements. Please take a look at the rest of the website to see examples of the work we do and the curriculum and other experiences that we offer.
